David M. Nieporent, Associate & Generally Smart Guy.
David M. Nieporent graduated from Princeton University and New York's St. John's University School of Law as a St. Thomas More Scholar (a full merit-based scholarship). At St. John's, he was a member of the Law Review. A former corporate litigation consultant, David practices general business law and has extensive experience in trademark, unfair competition, and general commercial litigation. David has special expertise in matters involving the Internet, including vetting websites for intellectual property issues, advising website owners on regulatory, compliance, and protection issues necessary for the operation of Web-based enterprises, and providing website operators with "soup to nuts" legal advice pertaining to privacy policies, terms of use, IP clearance, and other Internet forms and procedures. Along with firm managing shareholder David Stein, David has acquired expertise in prosecuting trademark applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), responding to Office Actions, and representing Web-based independent distributors in disputes with companies seeking to restrict consumers' ability to purchase legitimate merchandise on the Internet by threatening litigation under spurious trademark and copyright theories. David also has years of experience in real estate transactions, representing buyers and sellers in residential, commercial, and institutional real estate deals.
David also administers the "New Jersey Lawyers" email discussion list hosted by the Washburn School of Law.
