Our firm has unusual, extensive, and practical experience in the area of on-line enforcement of brands, trademarks, and other intellectual property. Firm founder David Stein has been on the leading edge of the law of the Internet ever since he obtained a MasterŐs degree for lawyers (LL.M.) in the area of intellectual property. He has successfully handled domain name disputes before Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) tribunals, has represented criminal defendants in matters arising out of use of the Internet, and has handled Internet-related claims involving nominative fair use, initial interest confusion, meta-tags, keywords, and copyright infringement, especially in the context of on-line advertising. Mr. Stein has also developed expertise in prosecuting trademarks, responding to Office Actions, and representing Web-based independent distributors in disputes with companies seeking to restrict consumers' ability to purchase legitimate merchandise on the Internet by threatening litigation under spurious trademark and copyright theories.

This expertise is complemented by David M. Nieporent who is experienced in advising website owners on regulatory and other issues required for the operation of Web-based enterprises, including "soup to nuts" legal advice for website operators requiring privacy policies, terms of use, and IP clearance. Ronald Coleman also counsels clients on technology-related issues related to the Internet.
